Food Label Trial Orders: Set Pass and Fail Criteria

Use a trial order to answer specific questions before committing to bulk food labels. Define what must stay readable, how long the label must remain attached and how removal will be judged.

Keep trial stock separate until approval

Keep trial stock separate from approved production stock. Assign a manager to review results from representative shifts, container materials and cleaning routes. A small screening trial can reveal obvious problems, but it does not establish every possible condition or a laboratory performance rating.

Define the trial before opening samples

  • Separate test orders from production stock.
  • Choose representative containers and staff shifts.
  • Record measurable pass/fail requirements.
  • Set an approval gate before the larger order.

Start with twenty labels per material

For an initial screen, try twenty labels per container material and candidate. Record the starting count, failures, unreadable fields and removal work. Review the troublesome cases before approving a limited production order; do not let a discounted case quantity substitute for that decision.

Compare the label format

Compare the Standard Bull blank dissolvable four-roll format. Confirm the current listing details against the requirements above.
