Food Label Supplier Qualification for Restaurant Groups
Share
Qualify a food label supplier by checking repeatable specifications, sample performance and the process for correcting failed orders. An attractive first shipment does not establish that later shipments will match it.
Document the approved SKU and change controls
Request the exact SKU, dimensions, adhesive and face material, layout, roll counts and application instructions. Ask how the supplier identifies changes to any of these. Clarify delivery capacity, shortage reporting, defect evidence and whether substitutions require written approval.
Supplier questions for a restaurant group
- Request consistent material and adhesive specifications.
- Ask about sample availability and acceptance testing.
- Check repeatability of roll counts and packaging.
- Verify order capacity, defect policy and delivery history.
Run matched cold-prep and dishroom trials
Send the same sample brief to two suppliers. Trial both in cold prep and the dishroom using equal quantities and matched containers. Retain the approved sample and its specification with the purchase record, so receiving staff have something concrete to compare against the next delivery.
Compare the label format
Compare the Standard Bull printed removable four-roll format. Confirm the current listing details against the requirements above.
