Food Label Supply Terms: Specify Changes and Lead Times

For recurring label orders, put the approved product and replenishment expectations in writing. The key question is whether the next delivery will match the material, layout and quantity your kitchen tested.

Specify the product and the delivery milestones

Include the SKU, label dimensions, printed fields, counts, packaging and agreed tolerances. Distinguish order acknowledgment, dispatch and delivery dates. Document how the buyer will be notified of delays, shortages or proposed material substitutions and who can approve a change.

Terms to settle for repeat supply

  • Define roll count, size and acceptable tolerances.
  • Specify lead time and order confirmation process.
  • Agree how defects and shortages are handled.
  • Document substitutions and notification requirements.

Handle an adhesive substitution explicitly

If a supplier proposes a different adhesive for the same printed layout, hold that substitution for review and sample testing. Keep the revised specification linked to the approval date. Commercial terms should also explain the evidence and reporting window needed to resolve damaged or incomplete deliveries.

Compare the label format

Compare the Standard Bull printed dissolvable four-roll format. Confirm the current listing details against the requirements above.
