DYMO Address Labels from Outlook or Google Contacts
Share
Quick answer: Review the mailing group and address type first. Use the contact import supported by your installed DYMO release or export a working CSV, then map and test complete addresses before printing.
Choose a clean mailing list before opening the print dialog. Contact applications can hold several addresses, duplicate people and records with no mailing address at all. Printing those records directly can create a tidy-looking batch that is still wrong. DYMO Connect supports contact-import workflows described in its user guide.
The available connection choices depend on the installed release and platform. Use the supported option shown in your application; where direct access is unavailable, a supported CSV workflow is a practical alternative.
Define the mailing group first
Select the contacts who should actually receive the mailing in Outlook or Google Contacts. Review that group before export or import. A whole address book often includes suppliers, personal contacts and incomplete records that do not belong in the same batch. Decide whether the mailing uses business or home addresses.
Do not assume the application will choose the address you intended when both exist.
- Recipient belongs in this mailing
- Correct organization and name
- Correct business/home address selected
- Street and unit information present
- City, state and postal code present where required
- Country included where needed
- Duplicate recipient reviewed
Choose a supported route into DYMO Connect
If your installed release offers the required Outlook or Google contact source, open the import or contact-list feature, choose that source and select the intended contacts. Complete any account selection in the normal application flow. If that connection is unavailable, export the selected contacts to CSV using the contact application's export feature.
Keep an untouched copy of the export. Prepare a working copy with only the fields needed for labels, then import it through DYMO Connect's supported data-import feature. Menu names in contact applications change, so avoid following a remembered sequence from a different Outlook edition or Google interface. The important outcome is a file with complete, correctly separated address fields.
Build the address deliberately
Map the recipient name, organization and mailing fields to the Address object or appropriate text objects. Insert line breaks where the address structure needs them. Keep optional company or unit fields from producing unnecessary empty lines. A fictional field plan might be:
| Printed line | Source content |
|---|---|
| 1 | Recipient name |
| 2 | Organization, if used |
| 3 | Street address |
| 4 | Unit or suite, if needed |
| 5 | City, state and postal code |
| 6 | Country, when needed |
This is a planning example, not a universal postal format. Adapt it to the destination and the actual address records.
Check the difficult records
Review a contact with a long organization name, one with a unit line and one with a leading-zero postal code. Also review any international destination separately. Do not force a materially different address structure into a cramped domestic template. Print a short sample and read every line. A successful import does not verify deliverability.
DYMO notes on its software support page that address-correction availability can vary; do not make an optional correction feature your only quality check.
Keep the mailing reproducible
Record which contact group, address type and export date produced the batch. Retain the approved layout with its label format in the filename. If the contact list changes, refresh the data rather than assuming a previously saved label file contains the latest addresses. Before printing the full batch, confirm the record count and one-copy setting. Separate labels needing manual review so they do not disappear into the stack of approved output.
