Compare Food Label Adhesives With a Kitchen Trial
Share
You can screen label adhesives without laboratory equipment by keeping the containers, application method and exposure consistent. The result is a practical purchasing comparison, not a certified performance rating.
Keep application and exposure conditions consistent
Give each candidate the same number of samples on each surface. Mark the sample identity separately so you can still identify a failed label. Photograph the starting position and record edge lift, sliding, complete loss and removal work after the same service interval.
What to record in an adhesive comparison
- Use consistent containers and application conditions.
- Record edge-lift, sliding and removal times.
- Test after exposure to actual holding conditions.
- Photograph residue and failure type.
Screen tubs and pans without merging the results
For an initial screen, use ten polypropylene tubs and ten steel pans per candidate. Compare the results by surface rather than combining them into one average. Repeat unexpected failures and ask the supplier to explain differences before committing; a small trial cannot substantiate food-contact or other regulated claims.
Compare the label format
Compare the Standard Bull blank removable four-roll format. Confirm the current listing details against the requirements above.
